There's been a lot of Resident Evil games.
But which ones made you experience the "Survival Horror" as much?


For me? Face it, REmake set the bar on how Resident Evil games should be at the time.
From the first time a Zombie jumps at you from no where, or your encounter with Lisa, you'll start getting scared.
Added if you are playing it in the middle of the night with the volume up.
Oh and must I forget the Crimson Heads?


So what is everyone's scariest RE game?

For me it is definetly the REmake
With RE4 being the least scariest lol

I personally didn't find any of them scary, but the thing that I usually put into that category, was that intense feeling that you are about to die, this is existent in every RE game, and it is great, struggling to find some medical item.

Kytte, you said that RE4 was least?? Really, Gaiden scared you more?

FIRST TIME you saw a Regenerator come at you, you pumped it's ass full of shotgun shells and TMP ammos.

Ok ok the Regenerators got me lol, But the rest of the game was just action to me lol

I was going to say the same thing about the graphis.

Only action, I guess that Capcom wasted their time with their ominous tones, and actors to do menacing gannado voices. I think that it had plenty of horror, not only Regenerators, stuff like Dr. Salvador, Del Lago, and what about the gannado hiding in the fridge??

i cant really think of the scariest game but i can think of moments throughout the series
the chainsaw dude in four really scared me
the nemesis chasing me:(
the regenerators
the first time the hunter made an appearance in the original RE
the neptune in the RE remake (soooooo big!)
soooo many

but like spike said i think it just gets really tense. like when your faced with 2 doors and dont know which to go through. one could be a save room with that beautiful music or one could be your death. you have no health and hardly any ammo....very very tense.

REmake pretty much has it hands down for me...but I found myself getting that feeling of dread quite a bit in RE0 as well.

The only horror was the regenerator
The ganado in fridge personally made me laugh because he entirely missed me and fell over and died lol
and i'm sorry a guy running around with a bag of flour on his head isn't that menacing lol ^_^

LOL, yes, the "fridge-ganado" did the same for me as well. IMO Regenerator was really the only "scary" thing in RE4...the only moments of dread I felt in the game was wondering if I had enough shotgun shells/grenades with me for the ensuing battle that seemed to tirelessly lurk around every corner.

I thought the original Resident Evil was very scary. It was my first RE, and if oyu overlook the cheesy voice acting, there were a few memorable moments, like the first time the Hunter and Zombie Dogs attack.

As an odd coincidence, a window shattered in my house once right when a dog jumped through the window in the game - it about scared me half to death!

I also thought the first zombie cutscene where Kenneth is being eaten was classic - when that zombie turns to look at you, it looks as if he's staring at US, the players, and not at Jill or Chris. *shivers*

The chimera fights in the generator room also freaked me out, you never knew those little buggers were coming until they actually jumped on you head!

lol yeah them little ..things annoyed me lol

I didn't really think that they were all that scary..although at some points in the games I did jump when enemies would come out of nowhere
