| Me thinks: Courage... Movies tell us about courage... Songs tell us about courage... Honor for the brave! Giving your life to save somebody may be wrong, but courage... Honor for the brave! Was it good, was it good??!! |

That's politics. This topic is about our definitions of what constitutes "courage", and the anonymous man in that picture I posted is a warrior, not a politician. In spite of what some in the world will claim, there's a very big difference between the two.
But, at any rate, discussions like that run the risk of tearing communities apart, and I agree with not wanting to start one here.
And Fro, please explain your logic in saying that "giving your life to save someone may be wrong". |

But diving on a grenade or jumping in front of a bullet is a split second decision. I doubt the thought of being honored is anywhere in someone's mind when he or she does it.

Exactly. When the bullets start flying, politics and all that sh*t go right out the window.
As far as WMDs, never say never... |

Yes, but you've got to remember that he chose to join up of his own free will. No one in the US is required to serve. |

im sorry for the others if it was out of context. |
No need for apology. It's not like we're flaming back and forth over it, right?
As you know, there are hypocrites in the US and other countries of the world who rant and boast about having the freedom to do this and that, yet they spit on those who choose to put everything on the line to protect those freedoms. And I think the poem above is directed mainly at them, to show who's truly responsible for maintaining said freedoms.

Terrible show. Absolutely horrible. Nearly as bad as "overtime" with Ashley Graham... |
