Like I have with the N64 Remix and Dreamcast V.2, I will make this controller work... behold, Dual Shock X!!

It will work, but it will also be an inconvenience. With the old style of controller you are able to access all functions of the controller with your thumbs. To access all the functions of that touch-pad you are surely going to be forced to remove one hand from the controller. This means that you will have to hold the controller with one hand while navigating the touch-pad with the other hand. Having to switch between the two would slow you down and probably get tiresome after awhile. That is unless, the touch-pads sole function is to be a giant pause button.


After watching a whole three hours worth of bull****, I feel this video is justice.

That video was actually pretty brilliant.

I still do not understand the point of the touchpad. Using one on a laptop is a pain and it sure as hell will be on a controller you are actually supposed to be holding with two hands.

@Mass: Sorry about that! I realize Spike Reaver had warned me before, but I thought he meant I was somehow sending the same forum post twice. I didn't realize you meant posting twice in a row (even if the posts were different). I'm part of some other forums and they don't use this rule so it took me a second to figure out what you were talking about when you called me on it a second time, just now. im not going to hate on it until i actually get to play with it, cuz who knows maybe it sucks and maybe its badass.

Again, I'm not saying it sucks. I'm just saying that the whole thing is a mere gimmick to make people go "wow" and then they drop it sooner or later because it doesn't really bring anything new or exciting to your gaming routine.

Going back to the video; why were people upset that Sony didn't reveal what the PS4? The dude is right. It's just going to be a black box. They really think the reveal has to be kept secret? They already came out and said they made a Playstation 4.

people just need to wait we will see it at e3.

I think a lot of people were kind of expecting something really different this year. Every new console will look different (obviously), but from some of my friends who are into it, and some other people I have talked to, they seem to be hoping for something pretty cool looking this time around.

I think it is unlikely sony will stray away too far from the basic concept of a "black box". Anything is possible though. This is kind of a good marketing scheme if you think about it. When someone looks at your product you want them to instinctively say "That's a playstation" just by looking at it. You want them to be able to identify with the product because it is a brand. Staying neutral is a safe play. If they change it up too much some people may not like it. I won't be upset if sony comes out with something similar looking to the PS3.

Well the Wii U is just a white box and the last two Playstations were black boxes. If they're going to do something crazy like make a chainsaw/gaming system, then I can understand why they want to stow tha away for a while. But honestly? I dob't expect anything less.
