There are currently NO Resident Evil online radio streams that play RE music 24/7. I was thinking of setting up a shoutcast server and streaming out The Best tracks of ALL the Resident Evil games. Would you guys be interested?

What if I expanded it to not only include Resident Evil but other horror games as well, like Dino Crisis, Silent Hill, Fatal Frame and any horror themed tracks from non horror games?

Also, should the music be shuffled? Where you hear random songs from various RE games or should the songs stay in order from the games they are from. (All the RE2 music played together)

Yeah shuffle it so people don't have to wait for The song they want at least within on shuffle they have a greater chance of hearing what they want.

Not to be a downer, but how do you plan to deal with copyright issues?

And, yes, they do apply.

NO we won't have legal issues with it. Don't worry about it.


Most things are technically illegal and always favor the copyright holder. But the worst that could happen here is that Capcom sends an email and asks me to stop.

The following are technically copyright infringement. But if the copyright holder doesn't care then go ahead and do it.
- Porting RE characters into gmod.
- distributing RE wallpapers that contain characters trademarked and copyrighted by Capcom.
- using Resident Evil in your domain name. A LOT of fan websites do this and the games industry doesn't care.

But the games industry isn't stupid or over protective and know that it all favors them which is why they don't care.


Examples:
- gh.ffhsring.org (the largest collection of Video Game OST downloads has never have legal issues and have been around for years and years, they take donations and , square enix asked them to remove their final fantasy soundtrack because in Japan they actually sell it. but that's all)
- game creators allow their soundtracks on Youtube
- game creators allow fans to remix use their copyrighted works, music, characters, environments, and turn them into mods
- game creators allow fans to record themselves playing a game entirely and upload it to YouTube and make money off of the advertisement from their YouTube partnership. There are a quiet a few YouTubers that make money by simply recording play sessions of video games.

Also a soundtrack isn't the main component of a game, it's the gameplay and interactivity. Sharing a soundtrack with people isn't going to cost a game devloper money. They don't even sell soundtracks anyway. And the ones that do have long already made their money and no longer even make the soundtrack.

You can try, but many times developers will have a problem with it. Youtube videos are shut dwn all the time because devs don't like that they have been posted.

That's when they use copyrighted songs from the major record labels and even then they've started just leaving them because the videos link to itunes and help earn sales.
