Greetings! I am Raine, a long time fan of the Resident Evil video game series. (Though I am proud to say that I only like the classic RE games excluding both Outbreak titles, Umbrella Chronicles, and Darkside Chronicles. I loathe the abominations known as RE4 and RE5). I joined this forum to discuss RE with more of its fans. In case you were curious, my favorite characters are Steve Burnside (unpopular opinion, I know ), Claire Redfield, Barry Burton, Lisa Trevor, and Billy Coen. As for my favorite games, they are Code: Veronica/Code: Veronica X, REmake, and RE0.

Outside of RE, I am a big fan of Yu Yu Hakusho, Neon Genesis Evangelion, the localized Tales of Series games excluding Phantasia, Silent Hill, Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, Parasite Eve (only the novel and first game), Star Wars, Batman, X-Men, and Invader Zim.

RE4, 5 and both Outbreaks were all awesome games. Love them all, especially 5. I must add, though, that neither the Outbreak nor the Chronicles series are "classic" RE games.

I think you misunderstood me. I stated that I like Umbrella Chronicles and Darkside Chronicles, as well as the classic RE games with the exceptions of Outbreak 1 and 2.

Actually, I thought the Outbreak games were considered classic RE games by the fan-base, since they were add-ons in terms of story for the Raccoon City era. I can see why they would not be, though, since they were very different both in game play and tone than RE0 - RE C:V/C:VX, which RE4 and RE5 also were.

As I stated, I like all the games from RE0 to RE C:V/C:VX, so of course I like RE2. However, it is my least favorite game from that era. While it has an interesting storyline that provides further insight into the series' various conspiracies, many of its characters annoyed me. I disliked Leon, Ada, and Sherry, as well as William, Ben, and the gun shop owner (what an idiot). However, it introduced Claire, who I love. I also enjoyed Irons, Annette, and HUNK.

And the original Code: Veronica for Dreamcast? I consider it a breakthrough game. The first time I watched its opening when I was ten years old in Electronics Boutique, my jaw nearly dropped to the floor. It is truly amazing.

RE4 and 5 are great games (you can't deny that), but I also like the old ones better.

Hmm... I guess it's just the way you look at things. Even though I thoroughly loved the Survivor series the only one of those I'd count as "classic" is the original.
