For some reason, these two are always the ones that come up for battle of the greatest 80's metal band. Both are great bands, but my vote goes to Iron Maiden. They just suit my fancy a lot more. Something about their music just feels different in every single way. I'm not saying Metallica isn't unique. Just that Iron Maiden clicks better in ma brain.

EDIT: Also Eddie is badass!

I choose Metallica, I just like the 80's thrash metal bands better than the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal bands.

But yeah, Eddie IS badass dude. Twisted Evil

Going for Metallica. I've never been much into Iron Maiden although I like some of their songs.

Dammit I'm being overrun! Lol

There's something about the new wave of British heavy metal that just catches my attention. I can't really get into American music that much. I'm always going for foreign bands like Maiden, Dragonforce, Falconer, Moonspell, etc.

Metallica all the way! For whom the bell tolls, One, Wherever I may roam, King Nothing, I disappear, Battery, Fade to black,
Unforgiven I and II, Sad but true, Fuel, The memory remains, No leaf clover, Turn the page(Prefer their version over Bob Seger's), Leper messiah and Eye of the beholder!

Tough decision but I picked Metallica. The first four albums are masterpieces.

I'm not a huge fan of either.

I guess maybe....IDK. Both equally....

I hate when people say that. They didn't sell out. The Black Album was the last great Metallica album. Everything they put out after is either average or god awful.

The Black Album had some pretty good songs on it, then after that they sucked major.
