Well, it's kind of hard to explain what the show's about, but basically is a japanese show about some guy that plays mostly nes and snes game and has to beat them in one go, most of the time going over the 12 hour mark of gameplay, the show is very entertaining, it started in 2003 and it is still going, the kotaku website made an american release of the show but it was done pretty poorly, the best way to see the show is with the fansubs made by the something awful forums.
Here is one of the early and best "game challenges" as they call them, this one in particular kindda sums up what the show's about...(please, watch, I gurantee that it is very good)

the reason I brought this show up is that in one of the episodes he challenges the snes clocktower game, which I think you may find interesting...
