A few days ago former Weezer bassist Mikey Welsh passed away. He passed away in a Chicago apartment from a suspected drug overdose. He only performed on one of their albums which was The Green Album. I really only enjoyed Weezer's first two albums (which Mikey wasn't featured on) but out of respect I feel I should check it out. I figured I throw this news out there for any Weezer fans.

Never really listened to Weezer before. It's a shame that he died, I might check out one of their songs now.

Their first two albums are near perfect seriously both are worth a listen. Probably two of my favorite albums of all time no doubt. After that the rest of their stuff started sounding like bland pop punk. I really like "Island in the Sun" which is featured on the album Mikey was on so I figured maybe I should check it out.

Urgh... It's always gotta be the drugs, eh?
