| Earlier today I was playing RE4 and all of a sudden my PS3 freezes, then proceeds to shut down by itself. I think looked at the power light and it was blinking red. I try to restart it and it stays green for a minute, flashes yellow, then goes back to blinking red. I checked Sony's site and they said the only way to fix it is to send it in for repair for $150. I have no idea what I'm going to do. If anyone has had this happen to them before I'd really appreciate the help. |

| that happened with my old ps3, it was till in its warranty though so i swapped it over |

| I tried the trick that is said to fix the problem and it did. For a week.

| Since I'm pretty sure my warranty is up (I got my PS3 back in like 2008) I'm going to just take it apart and fix it myself since I don't wanna shell out $150 to have Sony fix it. |

That won't work for too long. Been there, done that.

That won't work for too long. Been there, done that.
I didn't have Sony to fix it either, I just took it to a gaming store where they knew what to do. |
Did they fix it for you for free? Like could I take it into Gamestop and see if they could do something about it? I'm still going to attempt to fix it myself. |

I have no idea. Apparently it would cost about 150€ to send it to get fixed here. | When I got mine fixed they gave me a warranty for that. | Just wanted to update you guys that I fixed it. Me and a friend of mine took it apart completely and solved the problem. My PS3 is currently up and running. |
