I found this thing in RE Wiki. I know it's not too trustworthy but it got me interested. Is there any actual information on these things or are they just made up? The site gives no sources.

It's probably canon, but since they're all dead, we'll probably never hear about them again anyway.

Canon, but how? I need some proof they actually existed, not just a short article on RE Wiki that says absolutely nothing about their origin etc.

Maybe from some old Outbreak script that was never released, or maybe from some promotion for the game right before it was released. I really can't say for sure.

On a side note, I really love the level for the underground lab in Outbreak. The atmosphere is perfect, and it's awesome when you're running down a hall and the camera slowly pans out.

What pisses me off in this is that I need some hard cold facts as a proof. Not just some wiki telling me so.
