Hey everyone, my name is todd. I have liked resident evil ever since I was 11 years old. I never had a ps1 so I heard about resident evil 2 at a friends house. He had a claire and leon figure where pretty cool and I thought claire was hot lol. I played a bit of resident evil 2 at his house but not much. For my 12 birthday I got resident evil 2 on n64 and man did I play the crap out of it lol. During 6th grade my friend and I (different friend) only had an n64 and game boy color so we could only play resident evil 2. We would see pics of resident evil 3 in magazines and hear about resident evil 1 from people at school, because we were so young and pretty much could only ask for a new console at christmas time if lucky, the other resident evil games seemed like these far off legends we couldn't touch lol. I remember my friend used to like Leon since we only played 2 but then he got a magazine that talked about 3 and cv and had a connection chart with all the characters. That was the first time he saw Jill and so Jill became his favorite and he vowed to find a way to play re3 when it came out. I remember loving resident evil 2 and thought it was such a great game. Claire is my favorite and re2 will always be my favorite game in the series. I remember my friend got it for pc at one point and everytime something scary happened we would run around the house screaming like girls. We also screamed like girls when we found out chris was playable in extereme battle lol. As the years went on we got the newer systems so we were able to play more resident evil games and go back and play the old ps1 games on ps2. I remember we would have sleep overs at times where we would play video games and watch anime all night with the occassional pokemon battle in between that consisted of us having a figure of our starting pokemon and my claire nad his jill figure right next to our game boys lol. One time in 8th grade we went to gamestop to trade in some games and originally he was going to get Mobile Suit Gundam Journy to Jaboro. He remembered Resident Evil Code Veronica X had just come out and I had only played about 30 min of that on a friends dreamcast, so he got CE. After that we went out to dinner with his mom and her boyfriend and then finally got home. We stayed up all night playing it and getting scared ****less lol. It also came with the Devil May Cry demo lol. We didnt really play much of remake and 0 together but we talked about them, at a later date I got cv. I loved remake and I cant decide if remake or cv is scarier. We talked about them a little but for some reason just never did playthroughs together. When 4 came out on the gamecube he got it and after he beat it he brought it over. Between each others houses I was playing it but never got to beat it since we think it got lost when he moved. We liked how Leon was back and found resident evil 4 to be interesting. I remember one time he spent the night and woke up before me and started playing mercenaries. I woke up to him on the selection screen and was like "Is that HUNK?" and he went "CRAP YOU CANT LOOK" and stood in front of the tv. 4 was the last game we played together though. We were Jrs in high school when 4 came out and in the spring of jr year he moved, not far away but his house went to taking 15 minutes to get to, to about 45 minutes or so. Also we only went to the same school for 5th and 6th grade. For middle school he went to the one that everyone at our elementary school went to but I went to the one closer to my house. We were still close but over the years of being at different schools and meeting new people he changed. Not in a bad way, but we just became more different. When I was at his birthday in aug 09 I hadn't seen him since aug 2006 so the first thing we talked about in person was resident evil 5 and what we thought about it. My gift to him was microsoft points so he could buy vs mode since he told me he hadn't played it. Through out the years resident evil had always been a major game series I had talked about with people at school from things as new gameplay ideas to theories on where the story was going, to a game series I just loved to play and always wanted to see more of. Sorry for such a long post but I just kept typing and before I knew it I had all this lol. So since you listend to my story please tell me yours. If you have a story like mine or similar to mine please tell me. I would love to hear them

You really should try at least Survivor and Dead Aim. They're both amazing, Dead Aim in particular. It's my second favorite RE game. AND it's canon, too. Oh, and the main character of Survivor, Ark, is a friend of Leon's.

Gaiden is really good but it's not for everyone. It isn't canon either so if you only go for the canon games I'd give that one a miss. Still, it's a really good game.

Get used to Mass trying to convince you to play the crappy spin-offs lol. He will defend those til the day he dies haha. Welcome to the forums btw.

lol I don't mind. Its not that I don't like non cannon games its just I heard how bad those spin off games were and sadly I let other peoples opinions back then affect mine. Also I had my head really far up my ass and didn't want to play anything that didnt have chris, jill, leon, or claire in it lol. I have seen some gameplay videos of gaiden and it looks like it would get annoying after a while lol.

Not all the spin-offs are bad. The Outbreak games are pretty solid.
