SvR 2011 has its issues, but is still a fun game. That said, it won't get anymore patches with WWE '12 being a couple months away.

I'm hoping the uproar about the amount of moves and features taken out of last year's game (which was drastically more than any previous game) will have given THQ a proverbial Gibbs slap to the head about that nasty habit. I'm hoping the removed moveset slots (second strike attack, etc.) will be put back in the game. I'd like a reanimated RKO where the opponent jumps into it like they do on TV nowadays. They've already put finishing move "wake up" taunts back in, so that much has been met for me. A Jackhammer where you don't walk over into the freaking ropes before slam your opponent down would be nice, but I don't view it as a priority since the current Jackhammer is acceptable. A new, quite simple, rope tangle strike where the guy just clotheslines the opponent out of the ring. I want a remade F5 too since the ones currently in the game haven't changed since Brock Lesnar's first appearance in a WWE game. And IMO 90% of moves in the game (including aerial attacks like the moonsault and Shooting Star Press) should be pin combos.

The face/heel mechanic also needs to be expanded, since the two current options ("face" and "heel") are too narrow a selection. We need a system such as follows:

Super Face: Basically the kind of fan reaction that guys like Undertaker, the Rock, and Austin get.
Ruthless Face: Like Triple H or Sheamus, where the superstar is utterly ruthless and violent while being a fan favorite.
Cheating Face: A face who cheats up the wall, but the fans love it. Like Eddie Guerrero.
Normal Face: Just a regular face option like we have now.
Mixed Reaction Face: Some fans cheer him and some fans boo him, but he doesn't cheat or jeer the fans. Like John Cena, basically. This would provide a good transitional option if you're converting a face to a heel.
Mixed Reaction Heel: The opposite of above. He's a heel who cheats and jeers the fans, but some still cheer for him. A good transitional phase for turning heels into faces.
Normal Heel: Just a regular heel option like we have now.
Straight Heel: Basically a heel that doesn't cheat or jeer at the fans.
Good Heel: The opposite of Straight Heel; he praises the fans, but gets booed and cheats. Like Kurt Angle's initial run in the WWE way back.
Monster Heel: The heel equivalent of the Super Face. Basically, this is the kind of guy who runs rough shot over the roster and would piledrive his own grandmother into a steel chair if it benefited him enough. Pretty much what we see currently in Mark Henry.

And give us some damn "Cena Sucks!" signs for the crowd! The Cena Hater League (trademark pending) isn't being represented at all in the games.

For CAW mode, I'd like to see more clothing, hairstyle, and customization options "based" on various real people and video game characters, such as tattoos based on Kratos or robes based on Ezio Auditore. Additionally, clothing and body parts of in-game superstars and divas should be usable since, for example, the biggest part of the game's boot and kneepad selections, to quote the Rock, absolutely sucks while the ones on Triple H and Kelly Kelly are awesome. The ability to save custom colors would be nice, as would being able to put logos and tattoos on top of breasts, groins, and butts without that damn blur. If some douche wants to make a naked woman CAW, it's his business. If he wants to upload it online, ban the SOB from the server (then again, I once saw a paint tool logo on Community Creations that read, and I quote, "Raping Ni**er Bitches Left and Right", that nobody had done a thing about last I checked, so I don't know). We shouldn't have to glitch the game to put logos on the backs of trunks like is commonly done in the real world. And I want Michelle McCool's face entrance from SvR 2009 put back in the game!

Aside from updated gimmicks, I'm looking forward to, off the top of my head, Daniel Bryan, Alberto Del Rio, Sin Cara, Tamina, AJ Lee, and hopefully Kharma and the return of the Great Khali. The only preference I really have in terms of WWE Legends is Owen Hart and Amy "Lita" Dumas, but it's highly unlikely Hart's widow and Dumas will ever allow it.

That's all I can think of right now.

What was that wake up taunt you mentioned? but yeah, pretty much to echoe some of the stuff you said, the moves that were taken out pissed me off the most, and reading comments where they were all about fixing it, but in the next game didnt help... i paid 60 dollars fool. oh, the AI was pretty annoying in 2011. the cpu's love running attacks. they use them 2 inches from your face. in regard to pin combos, simply put, more moves should have them. i kind of think certain moves look like shit, the f5 is a good example, any moonsault off the turnbuckle, it shouldnt get up there, then turn around and then go for the move, just like rvd's split legged moonsault wouldnt do that. basically, they should make everytjing and everybody unique, like they used to. rvd looked horrible in SYM, but the moves made it feel like him. the way you get up on the turnbuckle should be like that person, or generic if theres nothing special about how they get up. they should also pay attention to how someone is perched up there before they dive. rvd and jeff hardy look different from christian or kain. i kind of liked the reversals in tna impact. the buttons and all were crappy, but to reverse a persons move while its going on, and they have the opportunity to reverse your reversal is nice. also, how about some cruiserweight style reversals. and who else wants to be able to defend yourself at the tpp of the cage, maybe a stored finisher or something triggers a minigame between you and the person trying to get you down. whoever fails falls back down. or just racing to get out, including outside the cage. thats all I can think of at the moment. i heard we can interupt moves, hopefully less sloppy than Day Of Reckong, but a nice addition nevertheless. oh and i loved both possum pin and leveragenpins, i hope both made a creative return.

Spike, I beg of you, please separate your posts into paragraphs... It's much easier to address everything you bring up in that post. Crying or Very sad

You're the only person I know of who has ever complained about this so-called spamming of running attacks. XD I've seriously never had much of an issue with it.

Wake up taunts are the motions a superstar makes when he goes to execute a finisher, like Randy Orton going prone and punching the mat prior to an RKO or Undertaker holding his open hand back in the air before a chokeslam. If that's what you were asking.

Yeah, that was another one of the major complaints of 2011. Most of the superstar-specific moves were removed and it made almost every superstar in the game whose name wasn't John Cena as generic as could be. Big Show's chokestam finisher, Kane's signature sidewalk slam, Undertaker's jumping clothesline, Jericho's Lionsault, and the good Triple H Punch were all removed. Additionally, moves from previous superstars, like the Buzzsaw Punch (Tajiri) that I used for all cruiserweights, were removed. Many of the Hurricanranas and Rey Mysterio's... moves... (I don't remember what those flipping cruiserweight moves were called) were removed, too.

You can do the RVD style hop-up to the top rope, but only if you have the springboard ability. But still, even with that ability, I don't want all cruiserweights to get up on the top rope like that because not all do so in reality. How you get up on the top rope should be a selectable "move" just like any punch or grapple in the game, IMO. The same should go for how a superstar pins, too.

And yeah, you can interrupt moves in WWE '12. This is a feature I'm looking forward to.

Edit: Found the complete roster for WWE '12.
Spoiler:

http://caws.ws/wwe12/?page_id=143

Pasted directly from the link, don't mind the spelling errors. Wink

So no Kharma, no Tamina, no Usos, and no AJ Lee. Additionally, no Bella Twins or Great Khali either. Sad On the upside, most of the Nexus guys made it in, as did Daniel Bryan, Sin Cara, and Alex Riley. Nice to have Jerry "the King" Lawler, Kevin Nash, Eddie Guerrero, and Booker T among the legends. Glad Edge will make it in this year, too. Smile I had kind of hoped HBK would be an included legend, though. Sad And... FINALLY... we get an updated version of the Rock! Very Happy

Spike, you should check out the rest of that site. There's screenshots comparing SvR 2011 and WWE '12 visuals, videos of new features, and so on.

sorry gl, but theres nothing i can do about the paragraph stuff. i know i mentioned it somewhere, but im on a 3ds, it kind of limits me like that. i could try spacing a bunch? otherwise you know im pretty picky with my grammar and puncuation, capitilization, and i usually paragraph like no other.... im still not really pleased with the roster... a real shame to finally get to the point where neither of my two guys sre in a Smackdown vs Raw game. maybe since theyve dropped that whole svr business it means that between tne two of them they were in all smackdown games. im still curious about certain gameplay elements. are these legit Taunts, or are they something you activate when your momentum is full? perhaps similar to DoR.

I'd like to see the return of weapon finishers and also stealing an opponents finisher. No Rey Mysterio chokeslamming the Undertaker or Undertaker doing the 619 though. If this sort of thing is attempted you should be penalised in some sort of way. Like if Rey tried to chokeslam the opponent would give him a finger wag as if to say, "it's not happening" boy.

weapon finishers would be nice. i hate how trivial something like the Vandaminator was in 2011, as it was only a chair grapple. they started doing that in 08. so yeah, im all for that.

btw i just figured out how to make a paragraph on here.

but anyway, while on the subject of weapons, and chairs in particular, ive go a few more ideas. i love being able to throw the chairs, again. i think they need to work on the physics and collision of it though...

also get more creative with the weapon, but especially chair actions. we used to be able to do poetry in motion in the corner or sabu's triple jump moonsault on a grounded opponent, though it looks like shit at this point. take it out or reanimate it.

some wrestler specific stuff would be nice too. with someone like rvd[yes he's gone and i should get over it, but im still gonna talk about him], should be able to set the chair on a grounded opponent and hit rolling thunder or that rolling moonsault. monkey flip in the corner with a chair would also be cool. basically all the awesome stuff we see different wreslters do with weapons, should be implimented.

oh, and btw gl, you mentioned that actions such as getting up on the turnbuckle should be a selectable move, i agree, but its already been like that in some previous games, tje DoR ones.

and things like corner springboards were introduced in Raw 2, but didnt show up til 09 in the SvR games...theyve been playing alot of catchup.

but yeah, this is a wrestling game, and the last thing they should half ass is moves. derr.

I'm resurrecting this topic and if you don't like it, ban me! D:< (Kidding, please don't ban me... Sad ) I've been perusing CAWS.ws and I have some new stuff to mention.

A number of the left-out divas (Kharma, Bellas, Alicia Fox, etc.) are going to be DLC. Batista, Brotus Clay, Mick Foley, Trish Stratus, Macho Man Randy Savage (ohhh yeeeeah!), Vickie Guerrero, Michael Cole, and Jim Ross, (Vickie, Cole, and JR as playable, yes), and Brock Lesnar (yes, you read that right: Brock fucking Lesnar!) are confirmed in.

Universe Mode and Exhibition are now separate modes.

Superstars/Divas can get injured in Universe.

A shitload of Legend championships in addition to today's WWE, World Heavyweight, and such (Attitude Era WWF Championship, WWE Undisputed Championship, European Championship, etc.). Additionally, from what they've said on CAWS.ws, you can also change out the championship belts with the ones used in Universe (you can replace the WWE Championship with the Attitude Era WWF Title, for example) if you want.

You can change out arenas in Universe Mode, too. You can transform Monday Night Raw into WCW Nitro, for example.

glad you did....as i was the last post, someone else had to be the oneto bring it back.

i wished your news was that, ''Rob Van Dam and Jeff Hardy have officially been confirmed as DLC''....

but yeah, lesnar should be interesting.

there had better not be a lack of moves in 12.

oh, and fingers crossed for the CPUs not whoring out runing attacks. even though i seem to be the only one here who experiences this.

Well, you are an admin, so... Wink

I don't even know how they managed to get RVD in 2011 with him being in TNA at the time. And Jeff Hardy is way too messed up (drugs, alcohol, etc.), WWE won't even touch him.

Quote:

Not that I'm complaining, but I'm utterly shocked UFC allowed it to happen.

Quote:

All I know about this is that they've put Kane's sidewalk slam signature back in, haven't made a decent chokeslam for him, and Lesnar's F5 might have been reanimated (not sure, couldn't really tell from the video).

Im stylin and profilin, limousine ridin, jet flyin, kiss stealin, wheelin dealin, son of a gun.

rvd had apparently made deal with them before going into tna.

i guess its caw jeff and rvd for me....

oh, and i just want to point out that this is the first game without either rvd or jeff hardy.

i hope lesnar is as ridiculous as he was in HCTP.

the bit i saw definately looked like there were some better strikes at least.

the moves in 2011 blew. quite a bit anyway.

the strikes anyway.

despite the roster, im really looking forward to the gameplay, it does look good.

Btw, gl, are you opposed to recording a Legend cpu vs you?

im curious to see you take one on.

but yeah, those running attacks, especially the ones when the guy is right up in my grill......i hate it.

Gah! Nite wants to play BF3 co-op with me, you want to play WWE '12 with me... I need to get a headset.

Maybe I'll just try my old phone headset, since I got that Jupiter Jack thing to use in my car.

ill probably use Caw jeff and Rvd though.

i havent bothered looking up how much it would cost for a ps3, but i pretty much intend to get a cheap slim.
