Not sure if this topic's been discussed before ^^ but I've been wondering why did they change the name from Biohazard to Resident Evil for outside Japan releases? I think the name Biohazard sounds better....

There's a band in the US with a copyright on that name. But if you translate the English "Resident Evil" into Japanese, then back translate the result into English, it translates to "Biohazard".

I the title only really fits the first game, since you're a "resident" if an "evil" mansion.

RE2: You're trying to escape from the G-Virus infected 'Resident's of a city which have been infected by an 'Evil' Conglomerate. RE3: You're a 'Resident' trying to escape from an 'Evil' city. RE4: You must fight your way through the 'Evil Residents' of an isolated village. RE5: *See RE4* |

This thing again? I think I remember taking part in this conversation some time ago... Don't remember what the conclusion was, though. _________________ ~The Weapon of Mass Distraction~ COMMUNITY:Resident Evil Forums Chat Group: [link]Resident Evil Forums Facebook: [link]Come check my Let's Plays: [link]Gaming forum I'm moderating: [link]
