| This thought came to my head when I was watching Degeneration. Remember how Angela's friend Greg was bitten at the airport and turned into a zombie like almost instantly? Well Jill laid in that chapel for hours on end waiting for Carlos to return with the vaccine and still managed to remain a human. Can someone explain this? |

Like Alice the hero of the RE movies, Jill's DNA has a special resistance. The cure Carlos gave Jill wasn't enough to cure her 100% during RE3 Nemesis. She's immune completely of any zombie bites because she has the Nemesis virus in her blood but its controlled. Jill's blood was very special and Wesker saw this during Resident Evil 5 which changed his plans of killing her to get revenge on her. Jill is somewhat superhuman because of nemesis. Thats about it. |

| I would think it takes different time for different people to turn into a zombie. Some just endure it better, whether it's a biological or psychological. _________________ ~The Weapon of Mass Distraction~ COMMUNITY:Resident Evil Forums Chat Group: [link]Resident Evil Forums Facebook: [link]Come check my Let's Plays: [link]Gaming forum I'm moderating: [link] |

You forget that when Nemesis infected Jill, she wasn't super-anything. Her "special" blood resulted from the infection and subsequent vaccination, there was nothing unique about her blood prior to it.
To answer Bub's question, there really isn't an answer because Capcom hasn't been very consistent with the conditions of zombification. The best we've been able to come to (and we discussed this previously in another topic, but I can't recall which one) is that the majority of people who've become zombies were dying or near death. Jill was alive and well when she was infected, so that would logically make the process slower. But exactly how long would probably vary from person to person.
The Keeper's Diary file in RE1 and REmake is basically a log of an infected worker's gradual transformation into a zombie that would seem to support this conclusion. Instead of explaining it myself, I'll just link to a transcript of the file.

As you can see, the transformation occurs over a period of about 10 days for this man. How long it would have taken Jill to turn would depend on any number of factors and can't really be nailed down.
I should mention, however, that Greg didn't turn right away. In fact, we didn't actually see him turn. He was bitten, so he was infected. But the last we saw and heard from him was when he attacked the zombie horde head on, we hear his M4 rocking and rolling off screen, then everything went silent after that. When we next see Greg is a while later as a zombie, so he was presumably overwhelmed and killed by the other zombies prior to turning. Him being dead would have made the transformation happen much faster than if he were still alive. |
