A 9mm round from a Beretta 92FS wouldn't do anything to a bear except make it angry. And be sure to load your SPAS-12, assuming it still works as replacement parts are very hard to find (SPAS-12s were banned from importing into the United States in 1989 because they demonstrated "no traditional sporting purpose" and Franchi discontinued production of it in 2000), with slugs.
