| I thought about making a Mercs thread as it seems to be a popular topic. You can discuss the game in general and have a chat with other fans of the mercs. You can also throw in some discussion on the predecessors of mercs, like the Extreme Battle in RE2. For startes you could tell us your favorite characters and stages. Is there some stage/character you just don't like? Tell that too! If you want to submit your scores for RE5 mercs, check this thread: [link]Check my minigame thread too: [link]_________________ ~The Weapon of Mass Distraction~ COMMUNITY:Resident Evil Forums Chat Group: [link]Resident Evil Forums Facebook: [link]Come check my Let's Plays: [link]Gaming forum I'm moderating: [link]

| I'd say my favorite character in RE5 mercs is Barry. You just gotta love his lines and the specials "Miranda Rights" and "Hurricane". My top three stages in the game would be Public Assembly, Mines and Experimental Facility. I liked playing as HUNK in RE4 mercs (neckbreaker ftw).
Both games had one stage I really can't stand. The castle stage in 4 (I hate killing the Garrador in a hurry) and Ship Deck in 5 (friggin' chansaw majinis!).
It was a nice addition to have a special enemy, Red Executioner, in the final mercs stage in 5 like they had Mr. Salvador in the Waterworld stage in 4. _________________ ~The Weapon of Mass Distraction~ COMMUNITY:Resident Evil Forums Chat Group: [link]Resident Evil Forums Facebook: [link]Come check my Let's Plays: [link]Gaming forum I'm moderating: [link] |

| Let's see:
Favorite Characters:
RE4: HUNK and Wesker RE5: Chris (Safari) and Wesker (S.T.A.R.S.) Reunion: Barry, Rebecca, and Sheva (Fairytale)
Least Favorite Characters:
RE4: They're all good. RE5: Sheva (BSAA) Sheva (Clubbin') <- Awful character. Reunion: They're all good.
Favorite Stages:
RE4: Village and Castle RE5: Public Assembly and Village
Least Favorite Stages:
RE4: They're all good, but the Base has a somewhat messy layout. RE5: The Mines (purely because of reapers. Please, Mass, tell me the secret to killing them!), Ship Deck (chainsaw majini horde), Prison (pretty sloppy layout, not to mention the over abundance of executioners) Reunion: All of them are vastly superior, but Mines still sucks because the Reapers still exist. Wish there was a way to play as all of the old characters in Reunion.
I've yet to get Mercs 3D, but I'm sure it's good despite the insulting lack of characters (again, a mini-game made into a whole game needs more than 8 characters). |

I don't know any good ways either They're a pain. I usually just grenade the hell outta them and use whatever is the strongest weapon I have. One tactic I use is to wait for them to get close, as they tend to open the white thingy when standing next to you. This has gotten me killed quite a lot of times, though, as letting one close enough isn't the best idea. My friend somehow manages to own them from time to time with Rebecca. Becca is his favorite character so he mostly palys as her._________________ ~The Weapon of Mass Distraction~ COMMUNITY:Resident Evil Forums Chat Group: [link]Resident Evil Forums Facebook: [link]Come check my Let's Plays: [link]Gaming forum I'm moderating: [link] |

Me too. She's the only one who can easily kill them. for me, at least. That machine gun is just so awesome!
Are there any reapers in 3D? I really hope not. They honestly don't have to exist. |

| Fav. Stage: RE4: Waterworld: Jumping off heights that would kill a regular person? I'm there. RE5: Public Assembly: Fun. Easy to get a decent score on. No reapers.
Least Fav. Stage: RE4: Castle: Garrador VS Leon. Garrador wins. Garrador VS HUNK. Garrador wins. Garrador VS Ada. Garrador wins. Garrador VS Wesker. Garrador most likely wins. Garrador VS Krauser. Whoa. This fight is fair. If you have the Arm active. RE5: Mines: Reapers.
Fav. Character: RE4: Ada or HUNK or maybe Wesker. RE5: Chris (BSAA) Good place to start.
Least Fav. Character: RE4: Leon. Craptacular load out. Pfft. I WANT A STRIKER INSTEAD OF A RIOT GUN! RE5: Sheva (Clubbin') Horrific load out. Even worse than Leon.
RE3: Mikhail: Best. Loadout. Ever. |

I actually have an easy time killing them. They have surprisingly low health. I can usually just stun them then shoot them a couple times in the back and they die instantly. Even with a TMP.
By the way, Ada is pretty darn awesome in RE4 Mercs. |

What's even more amazing is that Mr. Salvador can jump as high.

I actually liked riot gun more than the striker. More precise._________________ ~The Weapon of Mass Distraction~ COMMUNITY:Resident Evil Forums Chat Group: [link]Resident Evil Forums Facebook: [link]Come check my Let's Plays: [link]Gaming forum I'm moderating: [link] |

The riot gun also has more range, but the striker has more close range damage, so I prefer the striker. |

I prefer not to get in close range with Mr. Slavador _________________ ~The Weapon of Mass Distraction~ COMMUNITY:Resident Evil Forums Chat Group: [link]Resident Evil Forums Facebook: [link]Come check my Let's Plays: [link]Gaming forum I'm moderating: [link] |

You mean Super Salvador. Regular Salvador isn't too aggressive.
Super Salvador is probably the second most scary thing next to the Slender Man. (reapers may be scary, but they're more annoying and unreasonable than scary.) |

| Super Salvador is the reason why I never play with Leon or HUNK on waterworld. |

I think HUNK does a pretty good job killing him. Use some grenades and constantly shoot him in the head and he's done for. |

| Dr. Salvador is the regular version and Mr. Salvador the "super" version. I read this somewhere a long time ago but don't remember where.
I agree with Ravior, he's easily disposed of with grenades. You can find grenades while playing as Leon too so the stage isn't that hard. _________________ ~The Weapon of Mass Distraction~ COMMUNITY:Resident Evil Forums Chat Group: [link]Resident Evil Forums Facebook: [link]Come check my Let's Plays: [link]Gaming forum I'm moderating: [link] |
