| Does the YLOD happen a lot or is it kind of rare ?
I have a 60gig and dont want to lose it, as I heard they are rare to get a hold of now.
Every console company always uses shortcuts so they can still keep the price high but the materials are
shoddy.
Although Nite is right, sometime its the fact that they will think a part will work fine even though its cheap,
but in time it fails.
Also got to remember they have a bduget to build a system on, they cant go wild with the money,
hence why every parts not top of the range tech, like a PC.
I still like consoles but nearlly done building my gaming Rig, its sweet and im getting sick of consoles and just
the hardware they run.
Gaming PC's are far better investments. |

| It's most common with the older models. It's pretty rare with the newer ones.
If you are okay in tampering with your console I would suggest you open up your PS3 after a while, clean it and change the thermal grease. | The 60gig is notorious for it. It sucks, because it's the best version. The new ones are almost impervious to the YLoD. | I'm getting an Elite soon, a custom painted one. Right now I'm literally
trying to design the deadmau5 logo with the Skrillex logo going through it.
I decided to get a 360 because I know I will still get to play with you guys
on the PS3. Through the fact that a friend of mine from school, who is also kind of my
guitar tutor, bought me Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition for the 360. So then my brother
could get busy on that one whilst I'm stealing your kills on the PS3. |
