| RE5 isn't overrated. A lot of the old RE fans don't like it because it has too much action, the RE4 fans don't like it because it isn't RE4, the shooter fans don't like it because you can't move and shoot at the same time and it did get some low review scores because reviewers are dicks. It isn't overrated, RE4 is. But I'm going to sleep now, it's late. Bye! |

I'm not trying to begin a fight, but the only thing that pisses me off about RE5 is how similiar it is to RE4 in terms of gameplay, even though it was realeased 5 years later. But that's just my opinion. |

To be honest, I think that it gets just the right amount of treatment. It's not as good as RE4, and doesn't deserve the same level of respect. Also, it lost a number of things that were characteristic of other RE games, including 4. That being said, it's still alot fo fun and I think most fans recognize that.
As to the guests, better that than a completely dead forum. I've been on some sites there is at most two active users and maybe three or four guests logged on during an entire day. |

Don't you mean Leon S. Kennedy? Watching a gameplay demo of ORC that had the subtitles turned on, I saw that when Leon talks it says "Leon S. Kennedy: blah blah..." So dumb.

Well considering RE5 is the sequel to RE4, I think we can get over it. I'm baffled that you would use such an argument. I don't see people complaining about Super Mario Bros. 3 because its gameplay is too similar to the first one. While we're at it, RE 2 and 3 piss me off because the gameplay is too much like RE 1. How is RE5 not as good as RE4? I guess it might not be your cup of tea if you liked the minimal scares in RE4 compared to the basically non-existent ones in RE5, or if you liked babysitting Ashley more than having a competent AI ally at your side or something. First off, it seemed too short for an RE game. Second, all RE games before tended to immerse the player in the environments while RE5 felt like I was being pushed along way too fast with hardly any backtracking. For me personally, atmosphere is one of my favorite aspects of the whole franchise; gameplay is of course the first, but RE5 just didn't suck me into the locations like the other games did. Their were of course individual things about RE5 that were better, like Sheva (I really haven't understood the criticism of her AI that I've read on this forum). On the whole, it was a great experience, but felt way too rushed for an RE game. |

| Too short for an RE game? It was longer then RE0-3, Survivor 1 and 2 and Dead Aim and about the same length as REmake for me.
Also, I think story is more important then gameplay, at least for me. The story of RE5 was much better then the story of RE4.
