My dream involves the Philippines becoming a world power. We'll have the most badass military. The days of taking America's hand-me-down weapons are over!

But...

After watching a documentary on Mindanao, I had the darkest dream. I was a general or some high ranking military position, fighting the abbusayaff and the MILF (No, not that kind!) in Mindanao. We got a few of the prisoners and we beheaded them the same way they behead their captives. Then we went to a small village that aids the rebels and planted the head on pikes as we burned it to the ground. We told the civillians to evacuate, of course, but we weren't exactly... Patient.

It haunts me. .-. Scariest dream ever.

I was rooting for Gibo. So, I don't like the president very much either. Even if he is the son of Cory and Ninoy. (Random thing to say: My batchmate is their grandchild O_O)

It's cool. I can see why people would rather be the 51st state. Really. America seems like such a nice place to live in. I sometimes get irked when I see Americans complain about something from their country. XD But I'm just a 15 years old so what do I know?

But then I think about how much the past generations have done for this country to gain
independence... It's quite sad.

The documentary in question was when the Abbusayaff kidnapped an American couple and a few Filipinos for ransom. They killed off non-American the men via beheading, raped the non-American women, and kept the Americans alive for random. They were with them for like, months I think. They're saved, but the husband dies. I was just so mad at what I was seeing... I guess that's why I got that dream. >.<

I think it was the Marcos regime that caused poverty by asking for loans. I mean, just look at his wife. XD Thousands of shoes, she couldn't even possibly wear all of it in her lifetime. They excuse their callus spending on establishing buildings, like the theatre to "expose Filipinos to culture" and whatnot. Right, Emelda. You mean RICH Filipinos. If I was poor, I wouldn't give a flying fuck about culture. Pretty dances aren't going to put food on the table. Lets not forget the 300 people who died during the rushed construction. It just hurt the country more in a long run. /rantoff.

Not saying Cory is free from mistakes either. It was far from perfect. But you gotta give the woman credit for staging the first non-bloody revolution. It's practically a miracle.

I actually met Emelda Marcos once during a wedding. You should have seen a picture of that giant brooch she was wearing. It was huge. Diamond, I think.

good point... this country doesn't even have a good impact on those things, nothing really gets out to other countries, the music and movie industries are LAME, specially those korean pop culture idiots copied, they think they will actually get famous
