Especially if the game has an announcer that says it in a really irritating tone.

I almost cried everytime I played Driver 3 and got killed because the game then announced "You died". Well no shit, I was just shot in the head and run over by a truck. Now I would cry if I had to play the game again.

It's almost like the game developer's don't think we are intelligent enough to comprehend what just happened.

I was just shot in the head, ran over, and exploded....I'm still good right? Oh wait, nope, I'm dead according to this announcer and the text on this screen.
