But there's no need to bring him into the game since he already is in it. Though I'd like to see him make a comeback since he's presumably still alive.

Actually it was a REference (my new resident evil related word of the day). The guy who played Johnny Cage in the first MK movie was the guy who played the cowboy truck driver in Extinction. The actors name eludes me now. The resident evil character was kind of lame but I felt like yelling Johnny Cage nonetheless.
