After playing almost all of the RE games I have noticed one common thing about them: never bet on the chopper. They usually seem to either abandon you or just get destroyed. This happens in almost every game and it propably happens in 6 too.

In RE0 the team's chopper malfunctions and plummets to earth.
In RE1, Brad decides to abandon everyone and fly away.
Once you see a helicopter in RE2 some guy on a roof accidentally shoots it down while getting mauled by zombies.
In RE3 Nemesis shoots one down.
Mike in RE4? Let's not even talk about him.
In RE5 the little bat things attack the chopper early in the game and you can hear it going down.
Desperate Escape ends with the helicopter pilot getting shot by a missile.
Survivor BEGINS with a helicopter crash!

I have yet to play through both the Outbreaks and I've never played CV so I'm not sure about them. All of the main games at least seem to have this trait.

Yeah, Capcom is definitely racist against choppers.

In Resident Evil games that seems to be the better idea. At least you won't plummet to horrible fiery death.
