PS3 vs. 360.......vs. Wii

Yeah I don't get into the technical side of it. But really...If the 360 has superior hardware, why doesn't it show? The only thing that matters is what comes of it.

Well what I took out of the article is that the xbox 360 is a straight forward gaming processor but seems with more R&D the Playstation could be capable of more, this could show in exclusive games built to fully utilize the Cell processors capabilites.

As far as it "showing" i really have no place to argue, my PS3 experience is limited, at best. I haven't seen one game on either system that just drastically outperforms or looks better than anything on the other. PS3's biggest advantage in my opinion is its blu ray format and the amount of data that can be stored on the discs which allows for more programming more detailed and larger environments, graphics, details etc... on games exclusive to the system.

Agreed. You should try to check out Uncharted 1 and 2. They are great examples of how the PS3 really shines.

Agreed. You should try to check out Uncharted 1 and 2. They are great examples of how the PS3 really shines.

the uncharted games are two of the best games ive ever experienced. they put tomb raider to shame

Haha, I remember you asking me which one to get but sadly, all your friends had 360s. I don't have a controller preference as they both feel fine to me. I just can't get used to the 360's start and back buttons though for some reason lol. As for exclusives, the PS3 obviously has the 360 beat. Except for Fable II, which is awesome...<--My g/f typed that. Razz

Alot of it just comes down to preference, and I am just more familiar with the 360, therefore I prefer it.

I'm sure the 360 has more exclusives that make it more enticing to your everyday gamer, doesn't it?

As for the controllers, I think the Ps3 controller feels terrifc, but I also really like the 360's. I just dislike Ps3's(and all of the PS's for that matter) R1, R2, L1, and L2 buttons...it is something I don't care for. As well as the shape buttons, triangle, circle, x, and square.

Nah, the PS3 actually has a TON more exclusives that would entice people. The only "good" ones the 360 has are Halo, Gears, Fable, Mass Effect, and Left 4 Dead. I think Dead Rising 2 is coming to PS3 and new installments of Mass Effect may be coming also. But really, put those up against the PS3's exclusive line: Killzone 2, Resistance 1 and 2, Uncharted 1 and 2, God of War 3, LittleBigPlanet (2 has more info now, I'd recommend checking it out.), Heavy Rain, Demon's Souls, MGS4, Final Fantasy XIII Versus and Final Fantasy XIV, Gran Turismo 5, etc. etc. etc. Just so everyone knows...I don't have a 360 but my girlfriend does and So I have played Halo 3 (Pretty meh.), Fable 2 (Excellent), and Left 4 Dead (Fun with others, but never ever fun alone.) I haven't played a single Gears game, but they look good but wayyyyy too monotonous. And just how many humans vs. aliens games can we have? Overdone much? Mass Effect 1 and 2 look good but I haven't played them or even seen much of them.

I can honestly say that the only games that are Ps3 exclusive that I would really want to buy a ps3 for, are MGS4 and God Of War 3. That said, I am going to buy MGS4 anyway, just because I have the previous three, MGS1, Twin Snakes, MGS2:SOL, MGS2:Substance, MGS3: Subsistence. Smile

PS3 by far..I had a 360 and it died after 3 months. Then i bought a PS3,Its a shame that i had to sell it.

I have only had one 360 RROD on me and I got a full refund. I was one of the first release and many hours of Dead Rising was too much for it to handle. I did last quite a while tho. My RE5 LE elite has run like a champ through many, many hours of RE5, Mass Effect 1 and 2 and is still running strong.

I do now wonder how the Kinect will cut into the Wii's market share tho. And the new 360 looks pretty damn sweet.

My PS3 has never given me a single problem, and everyone I know has had no problems either. Everyone I know who has a 360 has had it red ring though...many time, more than once or even 3 times. As for Kinect, I don't know. The Move looks better in my opinion.

I have two friends who both have pS3's that's disk drives went out... they can all fail is what I'm getting at, not a system pissing contest.... haven't seen anything on the Move yet, need to check it out.

Ok I took a look at the Move. The Kinect is obviously the more technologically superior of the two but I think Playstation did things right with the Move. It looks like the Move is gonna be utilized on some pretty major titles from now on. Looks Like xbox is coming out with half assed WII clones.

PS3 owns this argument. More bang for the buck equals instant win in this economy. I own both the 360 and the PS3, the 360 is yet another money pit that doesn't prove it's usefulness. As for the Wii, I cant really comment on it since I don't own it. But from what I've played (mario kart), it was pretty fun. Overall, every console has its advantages and disadvantages. The 360 just happens to have much more of the latter.
