PostSubject: RE: Dead Aim   Tue Nov 24, 2009 2:41 am

I thought that since Dead Aim didn't have it's own individual thread, I would create one.

I finally received my copy of RE: Dead Aim in the mail today, which I ordered from Amazon.com. I put the game in my PS2, and played away. I must say, I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I played through on Easy Mode, and beat it in 1 hr. 28min. on my first play-through, and got an A-ranking. I'm currently going for an S-ranking. I can't wait to beat the game on hard mode with an S-rank, so I can unlcok all weapons, infinite ammo, including the charge particle rifle. The following is what I think about the different aspects of the game:

Storyline: I thought that the storyline was pretty good, although it did seem a little rushed. Bruce and Fongling turn out to be pretty cool characters though. Morpheus was an interesting creature, too.

Voice Acting: As is tradition with RE, the voice-acting here is almost equally as awkward as the original RE1. The subtitles that show at the bottom are usually different words that what the characters are saying too.

Enemies: Classic RE enemies such as zombies, hunters, and giant bees make an appearance, although there is not a single Cerberus to be found.

Weapons: I loved the weapon selection in the game. This is definitely one of the strong suits of the game. I love the Magnum and Charged Particle Rifle the best.

Health: There is plenty of health to be found in Easy Mode, and green herbs are plentiful.

Mechanics/Gameplay: At first, the controls may seem a little clunky, but I got used to it after playing some. I love how it switches between 3rd and 1st person fairly quickly. The one gripe I have about the mechanics is not being able to do a 180-turn.

All in all, I think that RE: Dead Aim is very enjoyable, and a worthy RE experience. I give it around 2.5 or 3 out of 5 stars.

What are your thoughts?

Dead Aim was one of the best RE's I've played (I'm a fan of the spin-offs) but I agree with the voice acting. I had to tune up the volume every time someone spoke because it was so hard to hear for some reason and the subtitles didn't help a bit... I mean, who the hell made them? They're nothing like the dialogue!

Thank GOD it didn't have any zombie dogs... It would've been a pain in the ass to shoot them. I already had problems with the torpedo kids and Glimmers Very Happy
The boss fights, though, are fun, except the fight with Pluto... Urgh, I hated that bastard (the noices he makes) but then I realized how to make him glitch and shot the hell out of him.

And as for the 180-turn, try quickly tapping back twice.

I am sure that with a more diligent search you could probably find a Dead Aim thread prior to this one.Smile

Anyway, I have to say that the voices were horrible in DA, except for Morpheus, he had a cool voice, a nice accent, and a cool backstory. Bruce though just sounded false and horrible. Although I think it is fair to say that Bruce did have some connection to Leon, whether they knew eachother or not. They had similar outfits, custom pistols, etc, not to mention the Bruce and Fongling relationship was just like Leon & Ada, or at least they were playing those archetypes set by Kennedy & Wong.Smile

actually I remember make a topic for DA already a while back...but anyway I think that the game is average...voice acting is not great and it is too short...but it is nice to have RE in a different environment

Yeah the ship idea was pretty cool, The Spencer Rain, although RE5 goes and uses a large ship too....

I liked the idea of the game being on a ship too. I wish that the ship section of the game could've been lengthier, though. The tyrant battle at the end of the ship section was pretty fun!

Agreed, the T-092 was cool, and I really enjoyed Pluto at the island facility too.Smile
