It's on PC, PS3 and 360. Weird thing is that the 360 version has achievements while the PS3 one doesn't. Not that it matters much.

Actually it's not the latest, the latest is Shattered Memories but that was just a reimagining of the first game. Really good one though.

Gotcha, I'll look into it, and try not to spend too much of course.

I'm curious though, to see if they are really scary or what...I don't really get scared when playing games, or watching movies, and while I was watching somebody play some SH on the wii, they seemed to be shaking. Smile

They're not THAT scary Very Happy

Amnesia is scary enough to make one shake, but they are still creepy as hell.

Okay, well that's another thing. After I've sat down and played through at least one SH, I'm gonna take into account my experiences with that, as well as RE, and others, and post a thread really delving into the horror topic.

I'm really sick and tired of the RE4 hate, and I'm gonna make a thread to discuss RE4 and the different attributes that game has that people like, love and hate. And really try to clear some of it up.

Well, if you ever thought RE is scary you sure as hell will find these to be. Silent Hill has always been so much scarier than RE.

Not especially. And that's why I'm eager to see if SH stands up to that. Isn't it a different kind of horror anyway?

I'm thinking I'll have to wait and see myself to really relate, but I know RE's definately been known to have the grotesque variety in their enemies.

And the sounds have also been a big part.

I know one thing that I saw when watching someone play SH, was that it was a guy walking about with a flashlight.

That alone makes it so much more intense. In ways.

I mean, when you got weapons, certainly guns, and you can actually tango with the enemies, it makes it less scary, no doubt.

I can understand where some people are coming from in regards to that in RE4 for instance.

But really, having those enemies that you cannot dispatch so easily and quickly. Fighting a Reaper is still hella instense, as is the Verdugo, or Executioner, or Dr.Salvador.

They need to find a good balance with RE. I mean we shouldn't have to struggle with a single zombie or majini just for it to be scary Who is scared by zombies anymore?

I'll get more into this with that RE4 thread I mentioned. I'm liking, at least somewhat, what I played in the RER demo on Mercs3D.

The combat is great when you know what you're doing and master the dodging. The only "cheap" enemy I can think of is the Schism (I hated those things) and that's only because they take such a huge chunk of your life away or just instakill you. They're kinda like the hunters of that game, although not nearly as cool. Easily disposed of with the shotgun, too.

That's actually the only part I got stuck for a while. It's hard but I like the challenge.

I think I had just enough shotgun shells left to kill most of them but even that took a while.

But now that you think about it, now THAT'S Survival-Horror....almost running out of ammo and there's too many enemys and you can just barely make it out alive.
